Qualifications / Initial Requirements for PNPA Admission

 
The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) said it is in need of able, responsible and well-motivated youths who have the aptitude for service to meet the varied and challenging duties of a public safety service officer.

To become an PNPA cadets and cadettes, is just like in Philippine Military Academy (PMA), aspiring applicants would need to pass a series of intellectual, physical, mental and health test examination to be certified cadet.

First thing to do of an aspiring PNPA cadets, is it may known first if he/she is qualified or he/she have the requirements to take the academy admission test. Because many of the applicants for that admission are denied for the reason that they are lacked of initial requirements.

 Initial Requirements for PNPA Admission

The applicant must be:
  • Natural born Filipino citizen
  • Of good moral character
  • Male or female, single and with no parental and financial obligation to anybody
  • Must be 18 years old to 22 years old
  • Height of at least 162.5 cm (5ft 4in) for male, and 157.5cm (5ft 2in) for female
  • Weight must not be more than or not less than five (5) kilograms of the standard weight corresponding to height, age and sex
  • At least high school graduate upon application
  • Must be able to perform the following physical fitness exercises:

  • Physically and mentally fit for cadetship training
  • No criminal, administrative, or civil case and other derogatory record(s) 
  • Not a former cadet of PNPA or other service academies 
  • Must pass the Cadet Admission Test (CAT) Coverage of Examination:
    • Communication Skills 
    • Logical and Reasoning Ability 
    • Math and Sciences 
    • General Information and Current Events 
    • Values and Aptitude for the Service

Grounds for Medical Disqualifications:


  • Defective Visual Perception (color blindness, near sighted/far sighted with corrective eyeglasses or lens, nystagmus);
  • Physical Deformities Example: bowlegged or congenital defects;
  • Perforated ear drum, chronic sinusitis, bleeding tendencies, hemorrhoids, hernia (if not treated), varicocele, extensive skin disorders;
  • History of heart disease, hypertension, asthma, active PTB, kidney and liver diseases, epileptic seizure disorders, major operations; communicable diseases (such as AIDS, Hepatitis, VD etc.);
  • Full dentures, upper and lower, Cleft lip and palate, malocclusion, Deformities of the face, Open bite, Tongue-tied, missing of four(4) anterior or front teeth & Missing of six (6) posterior/molar teeth;
  • Tattoos and other brotherhood marks, ear piercing (male only);
  • For Females: Goiter; History of pregnancy; Presence of breast mass; Painful menstruation;
  • Any other similar defects which may hinder in the Cadetship Training Program.

Interested applicants may send the forms online via www.pnpa.edu.ph or submit duly accomplished application together with a self-stamped WINDOW ENVELOPE to the Office of the Registrar or mail to: The Director, (Attn: Registrar), Philippine National Police Academy, Camp General Mariano N CastaƱeda, 4129 Silang, Cavite

Successful applicants will benefits as government scholars with monthly basic pay of P24,000 and upon graduation from their four-year Bachelor of Science in Public Safety course will be commissioned as Inspectors (lieutenants) in the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fore Protection or the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.



How to Apply for PNPA Cadet Admission Test

 
The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) is a primary component of the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) which was created to provide preparatory education and training of the three uniformed bureaus of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) namely, Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).


The PNPA Cadetship Program is a government Scholarship Program. It is a Four Year education leading to the Bachelor of Science In Public Safety degree. Graduates are appointed as Inspectors of the PNP, BJMP and BFP.

STEPS ON HOW TO APPLY FOR PNPA CADET ADMISSION TEST:

Step 1:

Check if you are qualified. this is the most important step you must to do. It is but common that some applicants have already started processing to take the exam and later were surprised to learn that they are in fact not qualified. See the qualification / initial requirements for PNPA admission

Step 2:

Get a copy of either old or new application forms. Applicants may upload application form at www.pnpa.edu.ph. The two page application form can be printed in a hard copy either in A4 size or long bond papers. Applicant may print the application form in two separate pages or in a back to back hard copy. Another option is to apply online.

    Note: Online applicants are the least priority during the registration of qualified applicants.

Step 3:

Fill up the entries on the application form. Write legibly with no erasures. Incomplete entries are ground for disqualification such as incomplete address or no address, no signature, no birth date, digitally edited pictures or no pictures attached and other defects which might be noted by the registrar.

Step 4:

The application form should be sent to the address indicated on the letter head of the application form. Applicants may submit application forms personnally at PNPA SILANG CAVITE or through snail mail; postal; express mails : LBC,To GO, GRS express; Air PHiL, Etc.

Step 5:

There are no other required documents to submit except for the following : 1) window envelope; 2) postal stamp; 3) passport size picture with name tag and with white background;

Step 6:

Qualified applicants for PNPACAT will be receiving notices or permit to take the exam from September to October. If the applicants failed to receive notices or permit to take the exam from PNPA registrar, he/she may check his/her name at www.pnpa.edu.ph or PNPA FB account. Once his/her name is included in the list of qualified examinees, he/she should proceed at the examination center or venue posted at the said site on the date of examination.

Step 7:

All qualified applicants must bring at least two 2 x 2 pictures with name tag and with white background, PENCILS no 2, rubber erasers and at least two valid IDs on the day of examination which will be announced later.( Usually the examination is conducted every last Sunday of October)

Step 8:

Please read the initial qualification for admission indicated on the second page of the application form. Please do not apply if you are not qualified.
