What is Peso Sign (₱) Symbol?

According to Wikipedia that the Philippines peso sign (₱) is the currency sign used for the Philippine peso, the official currency of the Philippines. The symbol resembles a Latin letter P with a double stroke.

The peso is usually denoted by the symbol "₱". This symbol was added to the Unicode standard in version 3.2 and is assigned U+20B1 (₱).

  1. I strongly recommend to use Php whenever you pertain to Philippine peso because there are alot of people that are using Peso as a currency. Example is Mexico, they also use peso as a currency.

  2. Very true MJM, but only the Philippines has the '₱' symbol for its Peso. Other countries with Peso as their currency are Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Uruguay all use the '$' symbol on their currency.. So my choice is to use the '₱' rather than using the 3-character 'Php'. However the problem is whenever I upload the symbol on a certain webpage what appears is '±' after upload. How do I solve this problem?
